About the exhibition:
W.E.T.:
In the title of the show: 'W,' Water, represents the water element, 'E,' Element represents the basic representation of classical ideals of the most fundamental driving forces/substance on our planet and 'T,' Treatment to represent not only how we are 'treating' this invaluable resource and our water systems on Earth but also how we can 'treat' this subject matter as artists to help us as inhabitants of this planet to consider how we do and can act as more responsible and ethical stewards of this precious element. This will be a small group exhibition focusing on this topic.
More about the concept:
Water is one of the 4 (or 5 if you consider aether which we do) classical elements and with humans overfishing and polluting our oceans and fresh water systems, it is important to take a moment to meditate on what water means to us and how we can use art and creative expression to increase awareness about the destruction of this vital resource; the water ecosystems, its inhabitants, not to mention how these important systems interact with humans and how humans interact with them. We plan on using this as an opportunity to not only raise awareness but encourage people to donate to their favorite wildlife organizations with focus on the water element. We will be accepting donations on the behalf of:
SEA SHEPHERD CONSERVATION SOCIETY (SSCS)/Cleveland Sea Shepherd
